I have had a Savage since August and love it. The only time it disappoints me is when riding two up. It is so light the extra weight of a passenger raises the center of gravity too much and the performance is sadly lacking. I was looking around for a stronger running bike when I discovered the Honda Magna. It is a well kept secret in the motorcycle world as is the Savage. Both bikes are very unique in their own way but very different. After riding one I was hooked and looked around till I found a cherry looking
'98 with 2,400 miles on it. It has the cruiser look and sitting position, is 150 lbs. heavier, has almost 3 times the horsepower, more comfortable seats, no vibration just a hum in the buns, so quiet yet strong sounding we can talk while riding. Has a big looking but small 3 gal
gas tank (100 mile between fill up). Chain drive (yuck), V4 engine (4 plugs, 4 carbs, etc.). The bike is heavy enough the extra weight of a passenger is hardly noticeable, either in handling or passing power. I still love my little Suzi but big Maggie is now my favorite. Garage space is now a problem, I may have to sell my little Suzi.
Happy trails.
